Steven J. Gerdes is President of American Freedom Group, Inc., and has more than 15 years of experience in the brokerage industry. He is recognized by peers and regulators alike for his strong ethical position and his knowledge of the current regulatory environment. His plans for American Freedom Group, Inc. include adding FHA and mortgage banking in the near future.
Steve has worked as a wholesale account executive, as a trustee to several regional and multinational trusts, served on the Board of Directors of a large national mortgage corporation, served as President of The Northwest Washington Association of Mortgage Brokers, as Treasurer for a multinational humanitarian organization, worked as regional sales director, senior division manager, construction and investment lending specialist, loan officer, and banking professional. He has a BA in Business Administration, and a second BA in Marketing & Management. He has received numerous honors, has been highly involved with community service, and has served in many leadership and teaching roles.

JIM H. BROWN JR. is CEO of American Freedom Group, Inc. and has over 16 years of experience in the brokerage industry. He is widely recognized as the authority in VA loans in the region. Having the true entrepreneur spirit, he has been instrumental in the start-up of American Freedom Mortgage and other mortgage companies throughout his career.
Jim has participated actively for many years with the legislative committee for the Washington Association of Mortgage Brokers, has assisted with the revision of the Mortgage Brokers Practices Act, and helped guide it through the State Legislature and the Governor's Office. Besides working as a mortgage broker and loan originator, he has experience in real estate, sales, and management. In addition to his political activism, Jim is very involved as a board member or officer of a number of community service groups and many professional organizations, including the Washington State Mortgage Broker Commission and the National Association of Mortgage Brokers.

ANGELA CRAIG is our Senior Processor and has been with Veteran Mortgage Inc. since 1998, and continued with us when we became American Freedom Group, Inc and Veteran Mortgage in October of 2003. She specializes in VA loans and likes to help others learn more about how they are done. She enjoys processing home loans because she likes helping people acquire a piece of the American dream, especially our veterans, who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. She is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University, where she earned a bachelors degree in English in 1992. |

MARGARET MORLEY joined our team at American Freedom Group, Inc. in October of 2007. She serves the team as the Broker Coordinator. Margaret is the expert internal agent for state licensing broker approvals, and most importantly, auditing and funding of loans. Margaret came to us with years of experience in the mortgage business and most recently was with M&T Mortgage, where she utilized her extensive experience in Closing and Quality Control. Margaret is a key to our affiliates’ success, and everyone who experiences working with her is blessed by her knowledge, insight and helpfulness in serving their specific needs. |

SAMANTHA BEAN joined our team at American Freedom Group, Inc. in February of 2008. She is our Executive Assistant and has a strong aptitude for resolving issues and providing exemplary customer service. She came to American Freedom with experience in the escrow side of the mortgage business and most recently managed retail sales at Calvin Klein and Michael Kors. She is the friendly, helpful voice you hear when you call. She is also the creative force behind our website and keeps it up to date. She loves the opportunity to learn new things that her position provides, and her enthusiasm shows. She is pursuing her ambitions and furthering her education in Business while working full time with us. |
